Pablo J. Boczkowski, “The News Gap: When the Information Preferences of the Media and the Public Diverge”

Pablo J. Boczkowski is Professor and Director of the Program in Leadership for Creative Enterprises at Northwestern University.

His research examines the transformation of print culture in the digital age. He has written three books, most recently The News Gap (co-authored with Eugenia Mitchelstein, MIT Press, 2013), and over twenty journal articles and fifty conference presentations.

His current major project, undertaken with doctoral students, is an ethnographic study of the demise of print newspapers in Chicago, Paris, and Buenos Aires, as a window into larger dynamics of institutional decay.
